Unlike other organisations the Lifeboat Institution is funded entirely by voluntary contributions. The hard working team on the fund raising committee are always looking for new ideas & suggestions to raise money for this essential service. There are numerous events organised on the island to help raise funds at a local level. These include message-in-a-bottle, air-sea rescue demonstrations, pub quiz's as well as an annual watersport Regatta which is held on the last weekend in July.
