Arranmore Priority List 2003

Hi all,
the priority list for infrastructure projects for Arranmore in 2003 must be submitted to Donegal County Council shortly. A selection of projects from this list will be selected for funding for the Council for next year. We would like suggestions as to what works you would like to see carried out and if possible to prioritise them in order of importance. All suggestions will be looked at and a final list submitted to the Council next week. Suggestions can be made by replying to this message or e-mailing development@arainnmhor.com. We have included the priority lists for Arranmore Development & Employment Co-Op for 2001 and 2002 to give you an idea of the type of projects that the Council considers. Look forward to receiving your suggestions.

Provide new fire engine, fire station & training.
Provide additional fire hydrants (≥20) around the island. MONEY ALLOCATED

Small Projects

  • Ferry Pier –
Addition of steps to the new breakwater to facilitate casualty evacuation by Arranmore Lifeboat. MONEY ALLOCATED
  • Dredging/cleaning the bottom of the slipway followed by extending the slipway out with poured concrete by approx. 4M to prevent the ferry catching at low tides.

  • Retrieval of the large boulders outside the breakwater which will ensure a clean berth for any boats tying alongside. MONEY ALLOCATED
