The following priority list for 2004 was submitted to Donegal County Council and Roinn na Gaeltachta by Comharchumann Forbartha & Fostaíochta Árainn Mhór.

Aphort Pier Extension

Smaller Projects:

• Junction at Hugh Campbell’s.
• Widen Chapel Bridge.
• Children’s Playground.
• Broadband internet link with Dungloe
• Safety barriers for ring road, Plohogue and Aphort.
• Rock armour at Aphort beach.
• Information points.
• Litter bins
• Picnic areas.
• Marine Works: Stacamore Pier: replace safety rails on steps and slipway, replace faulty crane control box and control box case. Ferry Pier: Add electricity point to new extension, add safety rail at new steps, add bilingual “Keep Clear, Lifeboat Berth” sign at new steps. Aphort pier: Add safety rail to steps. Replace faulty crane cable. Add weatherproof housing to crane engine. Move crane controls away from crane engine and place adjacent to pier wall. Repair rock armour at Chapel strand which was damaged last Winter. Put program in place to ensure piers and slipways are sprayed regularly to remove marine fouling.

Issues to be raised:

• Marina application, request support from islands committee.
• Village renewal application, islands excluded from application process, appeal decision.
• Beach front at Leabgarrow. Co. Council to find alternative site for road material, progress?
• Public toilets. Progress?
• Litter Bins. Progress?
• Helicopter pad?
• Ferry pier road markings. Money allocated two years ago, work not carried out. Why?
• Fire Hydrants. Money allocated two years ago, work not carried out.
