Trio Raise €3,000
for Neil Boyle Benefit Fund
Galway
based brothers Pat, Vince and Kevin Boyle took part in
the Galway Triathlon in
August to raise funds for the
Neil Boyle Benefit Fund.
It was an Olympic sized event comprising of a 1500m swim,
40Km cycle and 10K run. In
all, about 200
people took part in the Triathlon but many were only doing
one leg of the event. “None of us had done a triathlon
before and I have to say it was great fun. Its way more
fun than a marathon!' said Kevin. All three brothers managed
to finish the event in less than 3 hours. “We saw
the posting for Neil on the Arranmore web-site and decided
that
we should try to do something” said Pat, an engineer
at Nortel Networks in Galway. The lads sent posters around
their workplace and when the sponsorship was all totaled
up it came to nearly Euro €3,000. “We grew up
with Neil so we just wanted to do something for the family” said
Vince. Congratulations to the lads for a job well done
and if anyone else out there would like to get involved
in fundraising they can contact the fund by clicking
