Mhór is situated in a Gaeltacht (Irish speaking area) in
the Republic of Ireland, approximately three miles from the Donegal
mainland. The island is serviced throughout the year from the
fishing village of Burtonport by a regular roll-on/roll-off ferry
service. The proximity of Carrickfinn International Airport (15
minutes by car to Burtonport pier) and the accessibility provided
by bus from Galway/Dublin/Belfast make Árainn Mhór
an ideal destination for weekend and short breaks.
